Worship & Music Worship is the time we gather seeking to encounter God in Christ. We cultivate our relationship with God and with one another. God uses our worship to transform lives, heal wounded souls, renew hope, shape decisions, provoke change, inspire compassion and bind people to one another.
We worship in a variety of ways, but there will always be music, prayer, preaching, and the reading of scripture. Some Sundays our worship is aided by our Sacred Dance Team, and Bell Choir.
We love kids in worship! No, your child isn't too loud! No, your child isn't too fussy! While we don't have a nursery for kids ages six and younger, there is a family room where you can sit with an infant or older child and still see and hear the worship service. We never excuse kids from worship! We want you to feel comfortable and we'd like them to be themselves, so we try to incorporate children (of all ages) into our worship. Some Sundays the kids will do a spontaneous re-enactment of our scripture, or dance with the dance team, or read scripture, or add to our worship experience through musical offerings. Seriously, your kids are welcome to be themselves here!
Christian Educationexists to help plan, develop, oversee and implement a program of Christian Education for children, youth and adults that will lead them to Christ, nurture them in their faith and equip them to live effective Christian lives. The Christian Education Coordinator will work with the Christian Education Committee in creating and carrying out effective and sound Christian education programs consistent with the mission and goals of First Presbyterian Church of Yuma.
Youth Group Our youth are active participants in worship and Sunday school. Many are also wonderful volunteers with Vacation Bible School in the summer. The Christian Education Committee is seeking volunteers to lead youth group gatherings or ideas for moving forward until a full time youth leader is in place.
Congregational Life will plan and schedule fellowship opportunities for the congregation, (potlucks, brunches, game nights, movie nights, soup suppers, BBQ, picnics, etc.) Check the monthly calendar and announcements for more details!

The church library offers resources about Christian education for those that seek to teach and lead children thru adults in Sunday school or mid-week programs. Some resources are available on DVD and VCR tapes.
